Key Objectives of the Project

The central objectives are located on 2 levels. On the level of the participating institutions (A), the development, testing, evaluation and curricular implementation of an additional training module for internationalization is intended within the framework of the training of future teachers at vocational schools. On the level of the participating vocational school teachers in training (B), an extended acquisition of competencies in the above-mentioned cross-curricular fields of activity is intended. The project is organized by the Seminar for the Training of Vocational School Teachers at the Center for Practical Teacher Training (ZfsL) in Gelsenkirchen.

A:

- Initiation of a systematic transnational cooperation

- Identification of best practice and joint development of concepts for vocational teacher training in the fields of promotion of digital competencies for the design of hybrid learning processes and consideration of heterogeneity in the classroom (in the following, heterogeneity is understood as performance and learning heterogeneity, but also diversity based on multicultural class compositions).

- Implementation of European thinking and acting with focus on the above mentioned 2 educational fields in the educational curricula of the participating institutions.

- Ensuring the sustainability of the partnerships with the aim of a future project extension in the framework of an Erasmus+ KA210 project with further EU partners.

B:

- Motivation and empowerment of future vocational teachers of all disciplines to participate in the European activities of their schools.

- Experiencing and testing transnational pedagogical work processes against the background of different educational systems and diverging basic pedagogical assumptions; developing intercultural competence as a key qualification for successful teacher action

- Comparative analysis of pedagogical conceptions for the design of hybrid learning processes; identification of best practices

- Transnational review of the use of digital media for the individualization of learning processes and for individual support in heterogeneous learning groups.

- Project work: Development, testing and documentation of exemplary digital / hybrid teaching and learning arrangements to compensate for learning and performance-related or multicultural differences in the classroom.
