Videography in Teacher Training

Elsewhere on this website, a basic cyclical structure for teacher education is presented.
The basic assumption of this conception is that professional teacher competence develops in a theory-based professional biographical context.
Videography of teaching supports the professionalization process of prospective teachers in terms of research-based and in-depth learning.

Within the framework of the Erasmus+ project, a corresponding concept was developed, implemented by the project partners and finally evaluated.

Concepts for Teacher Training

Below, we summarize the key concepts in the context of teacher education.

Promoting Intercultural Competence

The aim of the course presented here is to sensitise prospective teachers to dealing with multinational and heterogeneous learning groups and, as a first step, to professionalise them in this field.

The course can be found here:

The „deeper learning“ approach in teacher training – how teacher trainees co-constructively follow the path to lifelong professionalisation

In our understanding, the professionalisation processes in teacher training should be designed as a cyclical process of repeated experimentation, evaluation and theory-based optimisation. The enhancement of professional competences of prospective teachers is an iterative process, which takes place at different levels. In this section, a didactic structure for the training of prospective teachers as a professionalisation cycle to be tested in practice is explained.

In order to introduce prospective teachers to the design of hybrid learning formats, we have developed a short course that introduces the topic of blended learning. The necessary information and documents are compiled on a padlet (Password: Erasmus):

Internationalisation as a Key Function in the Field of Initial Teacher training

Internationalisation has so far only played a minor role in teacher training. The slides of a presentation from the final event of an Erasmus+ project show the considerations that led to the Center for Practical Teacher Training applying for an Erasmus+ project and how internationalisation can contribute to further development in the area of teacher training.
